Under Armour is a well known American sportswear brand. They are best known for having introduced their trademark form-fitting, moisture-wicking technical sportswear clothing, designed to be worn as base layers.
The company was founded by Kevin Plank, an America football player, who decided to design his own range of sportswear after he got bored of wearing soaking wet T-shirts under his football shirts. He designed and made a new kind of T-shirt using moisture-wicking fabric for athletic performance and the company was born. That was in January 1996.
The company now supplies a wide range of sportswear and other casual sports gear including footwear, which they included in the range in 2006. The next product in line to be introduced in the UK is the Under Armour gumshields, a bespoke mouthguard using Bite Tech’s patented technology designed to improve atheletic performance.
The company continues expanding its offerings and are now available not just in the United States but world wide.
